17 March 2026 – The first meeting of the Technical Working Committee of the NET-Work YOU project, successfully held online, brought together key Egyptian institutional stakeholders and project partners to advance the implementation of the initiative in Egypt.
The meeting gathered representatives from in-line Egyptian ministries and institutions — including the Ministries of Education, Labour, Agriculture and Higher Education, highlighting the strong institutional engagement supporting the project’s implementation.
The Technical Working Committee serves as a strategic coordination platform aimed at ensuring that the project’s training programmes are aligned with national priorities, labour market needs, and existing institutional frameworks. During the session, the project team presented the structure, methodology and content of the pre-departure training programme designed for young Egyptian participants who will take part in the international training and internship experience.
Particular attention was given to the skills development approach, which combines technical training in green and digital sectors with practical learning opportunities. The discussion also addressed the importance of skills portability and certification, ensuring that the competencies acquired through the programme are recognized and valued by the private sector and relevant institutions.
Participants engaged in a constructive exchange on how the training curricula can best respond to labour market demands and support employability outcomes for young Egyptians, both in Egypt and internationally.
Key takeaways from the meeting
- Strong commitment from Egyptian ministries and institutional counterparts to support the project’s implementation.
- Validation of the proposed training structure and methodology.
- Emphasis on the need for industry-relevant certification and recognition of skills.
- Importance of aligning training modules with national priorities and labour market needs.
The Technical Working Committee will continue to provide guidance and recommendations for the refinement of the training curricula, as well as support the definition of certification mechanisms and the operational steps required for the launch of the training programme in Egypt.
Through this collaborative platform, the NET-Work YOU project continues to strengthen dialogue with public institutions, contributing to the development of a sustainable model for skills development and labour mobility between Egypt and Italy.
